In this section the DTMF Transport Type must be set to RFC2833 Relay DTMF. All other setting
are left at their default values.
Facsimile (Fax) testing was not part of the certification process as it is not a natively supported
service within Microsoft Lync 2010. In the event that an analog fax adjunct is available, the
MSBG configuration needs to be modified appropriately. In fact, the MSBG has the capability to
function as an analog (FXS) gateway.
The maximum speed of fax transmission supported, using T.38 protocol, is 14,400 bps.
Therefore, Fax Relay Max Rate must be configured for ‘14400bps.’ The Fax Transport Mode
must be set to ‘RelayEnable.’ In addition, the various modem types that will be supported must
be set to ‘Enable Relay.’ The Fax CNG Mode must be enabled. The CNG Detector Mode must
be set to ‘Relay.’ Finally, the Fax/Modem Bypass Coder Type must be configured to
‘G711Mulaw.’
